Uncle Jonathan
Uncle Jonathon is a fortytwo year old man who lives alone in a big scary old house. He also is a wizard that can do any kind of spell and lewis doesnt figure that out until toward the end of the book. He lives in michigan and has tons of books in his house about spells and wizardry.
Lewis Barnevelt
Lewis is a 10 year old boy whos parents past away in a car accident. Now he moved in with his uncle and everyone says he's a nutjob. So he is nervous hes never met him before. Lewis is a sweet caring boy that is very curious in this book he snoops around his uncles house every night because he thinks something is suspicious about the house.Throughout the novel, Lewis learns to trust and to discover within himself what true bravery is.
Tarby
Tarby is lewis's best friend they always stick together. They are trying to figure out what is going on because they think lewis's uncle is a wizard but they dont have proof so there trying to find clues that lead him to becoming a wizard. Tarby is also curious just like lewis thats why those to are perfect for eachother. They never leave eachothers sides.
Mrs. Zimmerman
She is there next-door neighbor. A wizard like Uncle Jonathan she has a Doctor Magicorum Artium (D.Mag.A) from the University of Gottingen in Germany. (Poor Uncle Jonathan has only an A.B. from Michigan Agricultural College--now Michigan State University--in Animal Husbandry.) She's a gray-haired lady who has an affinity for baggy dresses. Her face is wrinkled but her eyes on friendly. She also makes really good cookies and loves children like lewis and Tarby.
Ghosts and Witchs
Other characters would be ghosts and witchs. They are the best known in the novel for suspense.
