A ten year old boy named lewis barnevelt has to move in with his uncle Jonathan(wizard) because his parents past away in a car accident. He is not that happy because everyone in his family says that his uncle is a loony toon. So he is nervous to meet him but he is excited to move to michigan. Once he gets there he relizes that in his house there are clocks everywhere. Then he meets a neighbor of Uncle Jonathan's Mrs.Zimmerman a wizard. Lewis cant stop hearing this ticking sound all over his new home and he cant figure out where its coming from. Later he finds he finds out that the ticking soun known as clocks came from the person who use to live in this very own house. His name was Isaac Izard who has put a spell on the house. So Lewis reads magic books to figure out if he can reverse the spell. On halloween night Lewis and his best friend Tarby go to the cemetary. Lewis ends up puting a spell on a dead person to try an make him alive again. The spell worked and the man ended up helping the boys to take the spell off his house. Now Uncle Jonathan and Lewis are happily living together in the house with no ticking.
Antagonist- Tarby, is the most popular boy in school. He's "a daredevil, the kind of boy who rode his bicycle through bonfires and hung by his knees from the limbs of trees. All the girls liked him, and he was the big home-run hitter in the softball games." He befriends Lewis while Lewis is trying to practice softball. He is also very outgoing unlike Lewis.
Protagonist- Lewis, is the protagonist because he never gives up he always tries his best and if he doesnt figure it out he keeps going right back at it. He is very helpful and caring to his friends also he is curious he always snoops around and ends up finding clues leading up to the main part. Thats why he is a good protagonist because he's a great leader to his friends and family.
Climax- The climax of this novel is when lewis finds the spell to make the clocks stop ticking. So his uncle got really excited because he couldnt figure out how to do it by himself. Also when lewis finds out that his uncle is a wizard and so is his next door neighbor he gets scared because he doesnt want wizards to hurt him. But he also was happy because he found out the solution to the problem of the house.
Outcome- The outcome of my story is once lewis finds out everything about his uncle and his house they go back to doing ordinary things with his friend Tarby. Also sometimes they do spells since his uncle is a wizard.
Begining- The begining of the story is when lewis moves in with his uncle because his parents died in a car crash. So once he gets there he's a little creeped out because its a old mansion in michigan. Also he's scared because he's only ten years old. So when he gets there he cant stop hearing a ticking noise going on in his new home. So he asks his uncle what the ticking noise is and his uncle says "It was there forever i could never get it to stop when i first moved here someone set a spell on it. Since then it has always been there.
Middle- In the middle of the book lewis tries to find old books in his house to see if there is a spell to undo the spell on the house. So lewis looks through every book he finds and 5 books end up helping him through his search. It leads him to finding out where to go to find the next clue. So then lewis walks over to his best friend Tarby's house to help him find a spell to undo the spell on his house because he doesnt want to do it alone.
End- The end of the book starts out when they go to a cemetary near by to find some clues about who put the spell on the house. But they couldnt find anything but a blank sheet of paper they tried to figure out if it had to do anything with a page ripped out of the book but it didnt. So they head back to the house to go to his uncle to find out news about the spell on the house and he said the only way to undo the spell is with the same spell but reversed so they searched and searched to try and find spell about clocks but they couldnt seem to find anything. So they go back too the cemetary to look for more clues then they go to the grave where they found the sheet of paper and the name of the person on the grave was Isaac Izard. So they find a spell to make him alive again and the spell works. Isaac Izard ends up helping them reverse the spell and tells lewis that his uncle is a wizard he got so suprised right at that moment. he was speechless he wondered why he didnt tell him that before. Then later on he got over it and started hanging out with his uncle more often.
